Well, Today I decided to treat myself to one more luxury before the snow starts to fly.

I used to drive my wife's Jimmy before I bought my Yukon and it had heated mirrors. The last two winters my Yukon has not had heated mirrors. Yesterday we had our first frost of the season. Well, I tell you, it sucks not having heated mirrors, or at least I miss it.

So I went out and ordered these;
LH and RH from Ebay. Hopefully they will get here soon.

I know they are not exactly plug and play, but I figure I can McGyver the wiring harness...

Got these ordered. I know the mounting is the same as my 96.

If the harness is different (which I doubt) then I'll fab something up. I've had good luck previously with that parts brand. I havent looked into getting new OEM's due to price. I also dont want to spend time picking through junkyards looking for used heated mirrors in decent shape that will cost at least $50 each. I got used to heated mirrors on my Jeep now I must have them on the Hoe lol.

How did you make out with the install? What did you end up doing for the wiring? My mirrors just arrived today, so I was wondering how you had made out and maybe you could give some tips, tricks and pointers.

EDIT: BTW, love your Avatar. I'm old enough to remember dancing in high school to that and others...sigh...I'm old...

I've gotten as far as installing the heated mirrors, and making the OEM power functions work.

I've made a write-up for it so far HERE.

Next up when I have time will be wiring up the heated element. We've had snow here most of last week. I will enjoy these when they are done!

Today, I got as far as grounding the mirrors, running the power leads through the doors and into the cab, and running a quick test.

Next up when I have spare time, is determining where I can hook them up to come on when the rear defrogger is on.

Every morning is a frosty morning now, so this project is taking on a little bit of urgency. hehehe
