Should I just buy a airaid tube and use my stock air box?

Yeah that will be fine but change out stock air filter and replace with k&n stock replacement filter

whats the reason for doing this? why not just use a cone filter like a normal cai?

Im being cheap. I feel like the cone is gunna suck hot air from under the hood instead of cold from the fender with the stock airbox

lol, use a Fram paper filter from walmart. Paper filter flow more than oiled filters and works extremely well. a few years ago it had some dyno test results. On my 6.0 I run a AIRAID Modular Intake Tube (M.I.T) and a paper filter. And my truck roars, and Ill put it against any 200$ CAI setup.

simplicity, with just as or more performance than the bling bling, not to mention safer for flooding, and the best Cold Air Intake from the fender not a hot engine bay.


Im yet to even try the swiss box mod, but when I throttle it breathes HARD.

I did that with the airaid filter and did the cheese mod to my stock airbox works perfect sounds great

Airaid MIT was 1 of my fav mods. Worth it alone for throttle response.
