Alignment issues? Or suspension issues?

OK so I bought a 99 yukon sle 4x4. When I bought it front tires were bald on the outside front tires rear were good. Now that I know is alignment issue but it's when I turn sharp right or left like into a parking spot that the front tires hop like drag along or something its like if you've ever welded a differential tires turn no matter what if anyone can tell me why it's doing this before I go and change out my whole front suspension

Take it out of 4x4!

Have a helper work with you and check the toe-in. Measure from the same area of the tires in front, and then behind, the tread - side to side. Compare the measurements. You only want about 1/16" difference between the front and back measurements. You want the LESS measurement biasing the front. This slight toe-in then goes to almost zero when the truck rolls forward down the road giving you a good feel, good handling, and no burned up tire edges.

Example:
Front of front tire side to side equals 87 1/4"
Rear of front tire side to side equals 87 3/4"
This exaggerated example shows a tow in of 1/2" - or WAY too much. Pick a tread groove and use the same groove on both the front and the back, side to side, about 6 inches off the ground and it will get you in the ballpark.

Once you know where you're at there, then shake down the front end. Look for sloppy ball joints, worn tie rods, loose pitman and idler arms, etc. Or, take it to an alignment shop and have them give you a once over.
