go with a 250A, anything bigger will require wire upgrade.

Great thanks sure beats the stock 1

Have use them in past never single problem, and you have the option to power-coat, sure pricier than AC Delco one but well worth it specially if you running additional accessories or a 2nd battery.

went through the alternator dilemma, bought a "new" alternator from napa 160 amp DR44 badging but "made in china" stamped on the box, $330 dollars and it crapped in 600 miles and returned it. bought the napa professional series remanufactured 160 amp for $157 and it is still going strong. I do run a "overdrive pulley" 2 inch in the summer as i live in the desert and ac on max at an idle is just part of living here and in my opinion the factory 2.5 pulley prevents the alternator from keeping up with the load demands in the summer. not sure on your year vehicle but i advise replacing the charge/temp monitor module associated with RVC, ACDELCO its $27 and IMO should be replaced just as preventative maint. watch out for the "made in china" knockoffs on ebay.

I also had to do the alternator swap. I ordered a 145amp on Amazon, plus the required expanded size belt. Buick dealer installed it in my Escalade with no problem. My radios indicate 14.7 instead of 13.8 on start up.
