Ok guys I purchased a CAI about a week ago and noticed little gains in HP. When I opened the hood I relized that not only was the CAI laying on the radiator hose but was extremely hot from the engine heat. I thought to myself how can I solve this issue without buying a plastic intake. well here is the answer, Header wrap from autozone! I used it when I was running my yfz450 quad and it worked there, so why couldnt I wrap the aluminum part on the intake!! All I can say is IT WORKS!

Check out the pics below and LMK if you have any questions..

Nice. Were you able to notice a difference once you wrapped the CAI?

The air flows too fast through your intake to notice what small amount of heat might transfer from your engine to the intake, then to the air inside.

Actually there was a Major difference. It was 40 degrees outside when I tested the wrapped intake vs not wrapped. Also the aluminum tube temped at 193 degrees and once I wrapped it, well it doesnt even touch 100 degrees. The main thing I did to get the 100% money worth of the CAI was take Rollbar padding and seal the gap where the hood shuts. That way it only sucks air from the bottom not the engine comparment..
