I am having a bad antifreeze leak coming from the front drivers side of the engine. From what i can see the water pump seems dry and seems to be somewhere near the power steering pump area. Any idea what it could be or any way to verify where its coming from. Thank you for your help

I will post video of leak

It could be something simple like a hose spraying in that area. I happily haven't done a water pump on one yet so I'm not sure if the pump has a bypass line. Those are typical to go bad on other makes. Anyway grab a nice flashlight and take off the front shield off the cross member and fire it up and look around in that area. If it's a heavy leak you will know it when you see it.

If I took the AC compressor off would I be able to see behind the water pump and that area?

Not unless the unbolt ed the whole bracket it's mounted on. Then also if it was a leak that only easily noticed when it's running that would also hinder the diagnosis. Without the belt on your waterpump won't pressurize the system. Somewhat pointing in the general direction your mentioning you have 2 rubber lines. A bypass line which could be leaking and spraying over that direction. The second is a easily visible line straight off the top of your water pump that's also connected to a rubber line. Your only 2 bets in my opinion is filling it up and checking to see if you have a leaked while not pressurized taking your time with a flashlight and your hand checking for streams of coolant. Second is taking off the gaurd I mentioned. It's bolted to the bottom of the front crossmember and I think the bottom of the radiator support. That will give you a clear view below the a/c pump and much easier and safer to remove.

Sorry for any bad Grammer and such haven't figured out the autocorrect on this dumb phone yet.

Well I can see its leaking but showing me antifreeze hitting the ground isn't helping me help you. At the beginning of that video right at the top of the screen the big hunk of metal with the brake line attached to it is the crossmember. If you go in and look up a little farther you will be looking at the water pump and all surrounding components. The only thing I can tell you is trace the path of the antifreeze back like following a wire and you will eventually find where it's coming from. I seen the NJ tag so unless your somewhere near Washington NJ

Oh well that may be a plus for you if you can wait a day lol. I'm sitting in Washington NJ right now about to start my shift. If you haven't found it by later today I can try to swing your direction and help you locate it tomorrow before my shift if you need. Or if you think you can make it to Washington and back home safely without overheating it you can swing down to the plan at 6:30 ish.

if it gets more messy when the the motor is running only then the pump is likely damaged especially if that noise is related. if so it sounds like the pump bearing is ruined. note that the engine technically does not need to be running to pressurize. the coolant just needs to get hot. a running hot engine or a very good coolant heater can do that. if the engine stops and then the leaks slow a lot real fast then suspect the pump as it letting the coolant escape. the pump has a weep hole on the bottom that would have giving an advance that a failure was coming.
