I have XM in my fox body mustang, and have the antenna hidden under the black plastic cowl panel and the reception is pretty much perfect 99% of the time.

Has anyone hidden an xm antenna with any luck on these Tahoes?

I am hoping someone has put it under the cowl panel and had good reception, or on the dashboard inside the truck.

Before anyone suggests something other than a hidden antenna, no I do not want it on the roof or anywhere on the body. I would rather not have xm than have it on the body of the truck.

im guessing your buddies truck is an obs one right? and did you fab up a plate to mount the magnetic antenna to, or did you just let it sit under the cowl panel?

Not hidden but definetly out of the way. Put in about 6 years ago. Right in front of the rear 3rd brake light.

unknown at this time.
I have my Sirius and nav antennas on a round metal plate that came with them on the dash forward of the defrost outlets and centered inline with right wiper shaft and it both work just fine for me. short of putting them outside that is about as clear sight you can get even with wipers on. They move so quickly over it does no harm. A little snow might though.

Only place we've ever done it is on the roof inside the luggage rack. If you go inside, you'll have issues in rural areas where there are no XM repeater antennas.
