Hey Guys,

Have any of you guys ever ran your Tahoe/Yukon down the 1/8 or 1/4 mile... I recently added a Vortech/Lysholm Supercharger and was curious to see what these trucks run in stock or near-stock configuration. Just looking for a rough estimate for comparison purposes. I'd like to run it just for fun and see what kind of numbers it can muster up w/ the added power.

Thanks,
Gonzalo

I don't think there are any folks on here running Vortechs, but there are a couple who have Magnachargers and Whipples.

... dyno sheet.

Gonzo, any dyno sheets? Just curious.

Hey,

Yes... I put a jpeg picture of a dyno-sheet in my member photo album section. I took the Tahoe to the local 1/8 mile track about 2 weeks ago and it ran a 9.5 at 75.38 MPH... not too bad considering this truck is my wife's daily driver! I know for a fact that it will run faster with a more aggresive launch! I hope to hit a low 9 in the 1/8 the next time I go out to the track. :)

Looks like good gains on the dyno. I am assuming the blue chart line was the baseline.

No 1/4 mile times?

Yes, the blue line is the baseline (K&N cold air & Gibson catback only). I hope to run the 1/4 soon... I imagine it should do at least a mid 14 sec. time but maybe a bit better w/ aggressive launching.

... Still have yet to actually run my Vortech/Lysholm Supercharger equipped 2007 5.3L Tahoe... but hopefully this next month! I will let you guys know.

I was talking to one of our customers who does a lot of 1/4 mile racing and he said that w/ my run of 9.5 in the 1/8 mile, then I should AT LEAST get a 14.75 in the 1/4 mile! Obviously a lot of variables but nonetheless a very decent time for a truck that is daily driven by my wife and only sports the supercharger and a Gibson cat-back kit!

I think you will be faster than 14.75. I think you'll probably be low 14's. Get a BB tune and you'll be golden.
