Cash always talks at the begging and end of the months. This is when dealerships want to be out of the red for that month.

Here is a dumb question. When you say Cash, do you mean like dollar bills on the barrel head, or just 'cash' not financing from the lot, cut them a check?
Like I said this is my first time buying a car not from someone I know. I have decided to go with something a bit newer and 00-03 Tahoe, because around here they are pricing the older hoe's for more, or equal with a newer one. It seems since cash for clunkers a 95-98 SUV is rare.

ya go to the bank and get a certified cheque or bring cash.pull out the platnum VISA..or go get pre-approved @ the bank and ask what the deal is for a cash deal today!! also you can bring a ad/quote from auto trader or another place and show the price and tell them its between the 2 rides and your gonna buy the one you can get for the best deal.you have the cash, they want the cash..

That is what i was thinking. Good call on the autotrader thing. I am squared away with the bank so that should make it easier for me. I just missed a deal on a black 02 4wd for 8200. I have 3 or 4 dealers looking for me now. Hopefully I can get squared away this week. I hate to rush but I really need to get into a car this week.
