in got it. Removed the clip holding the handle, the used muscle power to pull it off. Since it being replaced, I want concerned about damaging the sheath cracked piece.

This is my 3rd K2 and all 3 suffer from this flaw. I bought the replacement from my dealer for $35 and saw them online for $27 plus shipping when searching for removal video.

I have the exact same crack on my passenger side rear seat. I'd love to know what part number to order and then copy what you did.
GM 23293012. I’m not sure if it from passengers on the seat, or the shock of slamming it down in place after being in the up position.
