I plan to just slide it in the console while I'm pulling over should it ever happen. I can easily do it one handed without taking my eyes off the road and being obvious so it shouldn't be an issue. I have a CCW, so in the end I'll just make sure the windows are down, dome light is on, hands are on the wheel, etc. as the officer walks up. In Nebraska you are required by law to inform the officer if you are armed so I'll announce my CCW tactfully the first chance I get....On my Hip unless for some reason I take it off it goes in the seat pocket behind the passenger seat. Have fun getting pulled over with it in between the seat or up under the dash like in the OP.
Well, what I've learned in my short life is that crappy/scary/dangerous situations don't always make appointments. I could keep my fire extinguisher in a box buried underneath other boxes in a storage room with a locked door and get to it in time if the fire made an appointment ahead of time. But fires usually aren't that thoughtful, so I keep a couple extinguishers in places that I have extremely quick access should a fire start somewhere. For the record.. I love guns, I own guns, and I travel (out of town) with a .45 under the cup holders, by the stock amp. The mag is in the holder right on the pistol.
I see a lot of people saying certain hiding places are "too many moves away".... where the hell do you drive? I don't think there's a problem with having a pistol close by when traveling somewhere you're unfamiliar with, but do we really need quick draw capability in our normal commute? If so, maybe you should rethink your route.
