Anyone have pics of clear Denali head lights?

I'm thinking about taking the amber lenses out of my front Denali lights and possibly blacking the chrome out so they match my new front grille better. I haven't been able to find any pics of what the lights look like with the amber lenses removed and if possible blacked out. I've seen a few write ups on the process in the past but of course now I can't find them.

It is the wrong year but does give me at least some idea of what it looks like. Here's my truck. This is the mockup grille that I just had painted. It should be going on this weekend. It's kind of hard to tell but there is a black stainless mesh in the grille. I'm going to remove the tow hooks and lower grille and put the same mesh in there too as well as black out all the stuff behind them.

So theres a hard way and an easy way.

Buy aftermarket oem replacement with black housings. I believe depot makes a set.

The factory lights are permaseal so it's far from the normal put them in the oven at 250 for 12 min and pull apart. The simply wont work.


I pulled a oem light apart and did the bake method for ***** and giggles. It took me hours of hearing, pulling and scraping the clue for an inch, the heating and repeating. It works but you will break the housing.

You could also cut the lights and then reseal the another way but I feel that way is less reliable because you essentially remove the channel that holds the glue.

Another way is if you want to paint them yourself and clear them or add halos then you can cross your fingers that aftermarket lights use butyl to seal them the you can simply bake and pull apart, I've even seen cases where you dont even need to bake lol

I've been looking at the aftermarket ones and most are just ugly. I would like to add either halo's or switchbacks but I'm not sure. Do you have any more pics of the light apart or assembled without the amber lens?

Depo makes a decent set of OEM type replacement housings. I had a set in black. It had amber corner reflectors but underneath the reflector was not painted black. They left it chrome. I suppose for better reflection.

Denali retro plus blacked out. I ment to vht my reflectors but one melted so I tossed them.
