Use a hammer and a right-sized socket to gently drive them into the caliper bracket. Doesn't your mechanic know how to do this?
I’m doing it myself, and he’s a mechanic not my mechanic. I’ll try socket and c clamp/hammer. Thought maybe there was a better technique. Thanks tho. Just to clear something up, the truck isn’t at the mechanics anymore, but im sure i could drop it off and wait an hour for him to finally put it on the lift.. just would rather do it myself.

Got it. Thought your guy was doing it. You've probably seen this video and it shows a technique. If you don't have the copper piece, use a socket that fits.

The video is informative but the guy's delivery is a lot of static. Searching for words that have left the mind at that time. It's the end result that counts though.
