Anyone removed tape deck console in 02?

Thinking of removing the console that contains tape deck and cubby hole in my 02 and just checking to see if anyone has done it and if it's at all possible to do. Any tips, tricks, etc.? Thanks

2 screws when u open the cubby door and the top part is held down by 2 tabs. Be careful not to break the tabs. Deck has a lock on each side, just press down to release. Plain plastic pocket will be aftermarket and the OEM pocket will be felt lined. Search amazon.

I took my tape deck out of my 01 and put a dvd player in it's place.
