I was wondering if HIDs were worth getting. I currently have 5900k halogen bulbs for his and lows. What kind of improvement should i see with an 8000k HID kit?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

it's a night and day difference from stock to the hid's. i recommend it. but like puckhead was getting at, the hid's take a few seconds to reach full brightness, so if you have hid low and high beams (i do) it is a few seconds before you have the amount of light you had with your low beams on once you click your high beams on. so if you need high beams like NOW, you're kinda out of luck. (the hid's are not nearly as "fast" as halogens) but once they reach full power, they're bright like the sun. i have been well pleased with my ddm tuning hid's, if nothing at all else, they look really good compared to the halogen lights. but more than just the aesthetics of the lights, they're really brighter than oe, so yeah, i recommend them. but i'm not sure about the aftermarket lights you're running vs. hid's. but they've made a big difference in my nighttime driving. just my 2 cents. branndon.

Plain and simple yes they are worth getting. I'm getting them for every vehicle I own from now on.
