Are upstream and down stream oxygen sensor interchangable?

Not usually, a lot of times the cables on the sensors are different lengths. So one might work in both positions and the other may only work in one.

So I took the one of the rear oxygen sensor from my Silverado SS 6.0 (previously removed and tuned off) and installed it on my YD and it everthing works fine. The service light came off right after. I did have to swap out the connector but other than that it was an easy fix and save me $100 bucks.

Did you put it on the front or rear? Seems like they would make the connectors the same if the sensors themselves are the same. I wonder if that sensor works right even though the light is off.

I put the sensor on Bank 1 Sensor 1 location (drivers side front)

I remember when I was purchasing mine, Rockauto showed different O2 sensors depending on whether it was built in Canada or not. From what I saw, it looks like the Canadian models use the same sensor for all 4 sensors.
