worked on the hoe a little more yesterday, rewired everything for the speakers and amp with some 12awg.
Also installed a dual display rearview mirror. so now it reads out the outside temp and the compass... got it off a NBS denali.. all you need is the temp sensor and wire them together. Still waiting for the sensor to get here, but i put this on my windshield already..




its a pretty easy mod for those who dont have the temp in their mirror, kinda cool if you ask me. the mirror bolts right in place of the old one, no serious mods for this besides running some wire through the truck to the sensor..

heres some more pictures of how i did some stuff and the end product. looks badass to me.

ran the temp probe right behind the parking lamps, then wired it through the firewall (used wire loom to hide it) then up the a pillar, the cut off the old mirror connector, used that power and ground then used the 2 other probe wires and soldered everything together.

thats a damn good idea. I like knowing the outside temp but my 96 doesn't have it.

what year is the mirror? where did you get the temp sensor?

the mirror came off a NBS denali.. it was a 03 i believe without the gay onstar on the mirror. any new trucks should have the dual display. and you simply go in front of the truck of where you got the mirror and look for that sensor then cut some wire to use with it.
