I have a been searching online on videos to do an install on a 2002 chevy tahoe with a non bose system that has a factory amp..... i am going to list the issues I have in getting this install done by myself instead of paying someone to do it.
so here i go.. Pictures to my questions would be greatly appreciated.
1. can anyone here show me a picture where they ran they ran there power cable through the firewall into the driverside?
2. I plan on running a 4 channnel amp to my aftermarket door speakers and a 2 channel amp to my sub. Can some tell me or show me pictures how they bypassed the factory amp?
3. How did you wire your aftermarket HU to your speakers? My Alpine has 3 preouts I think they are Front Rear/Subs. I plan on using patch cables then connecting them to y adapters to the 4 channel so i can control my door speakers somewhat.
SO guys i guess what i really need is HOW DO YOUR BYPASS the FACTORY amp and wire it to a after market HU PLEASE help! I would gretly appreciate.
Oh my. Seriously with the questions you are asking, you should probably have a pro do it. But to help clarify again of what's been said:
1 I pulled the cover and unsnapped the power block under the dash next to firewall behind emergency brake pedal. Behind that is the main harness coming through the firewall. I used a screwdriver to pull the inner rubber donut out then poked a small hole through the factory grommet. That way it's sealed from moisture and from chaffing on metal if I were to drill a new hole.
2. Again. Don't worry about it. Leave it as it is since you are running rca to external amps.
3. You won't be. Rca from HU to amps then speaker wire from amps to new aftermarket speakers.
