thanks for the RPO Code!

as far as switching to newer mirrors, they would have to be auto folding for e to bite on them. :D. that would be worth a retro-fit even!

I have them on my 98, so they were available at least 2 years. I didn't have them on my 96, although it wasn't an LT, but I don't think they were available then.

98 Tahoe LT?

It is a 2 door 98 Tahoe with the LT trim package. I do have RPO code DD0 as well, but I am not sure if they are linked. My last one had an LS badge I believe (sold it almost 9 years ago...). Edit: At least according to Edmunds, the power heated and dimming mirrors were only an option for the LT models, the LS models had the option for dimming only.

huh, seem to be a hell of a lot more common than i expected then, even more of a mystery of why there are none in the reproduction market (that i could find)

also was under the impression that the heated mirrors were only on denali/escalades, wrong again! haha

Back 2 the auto diming... Has anyone ever thought of tapping in2 the interior diming lights and running LEDs 2 the side views and molding some sort of lens on the bottom..?

I don't believe you were able to get non-dimming heated mirrors as a factory option. You either had manual mirrors, power mirrors (up,down,L&R), or the full feature mirrors (power, heat & dimming). The Denali/Escalade's had the full feature mirrors and were also body colored.

I added the heated/dimming mirrors to my old 99 Suburban and I loved the heating/dimming feature. They were easy to wire up as well.

What car did you end up getting the mirrors off of to do this?

all the used / reproductions online are listed as heated (non-auto dimming), so it had to be an extra option at some point.
