auto to a 5 speed

LUV mine it is lifted 2Dr and stock 5 speed!!!! Mine nice only reason I got the hoe because it was 5 speed...too bad my diff just bit the dust!!! good luck with the switch

Cool man, what year is yours? I'm wondering if it was a special order or an export vehicle? Never seen one myself, not doubting it just curious. You can run the VIN here and see if it rolled out of GM with it or someone swapped it in

Can some one take a 5 speed from 86 TA and put it in a truck?????? from what I understand the bolt patterns are all the same from the small blocks.

It will physically bolt to the engine, but it won't work for a 4wd without a divorced t-case

Just keep in mind the videos posted are of NV4500's out of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, not the light duty NV3500 which isn't much stronger than the 4L60

Mine came from the factory with the 5 speed. I search the numbers on the net and the percentages went something like this 20% of all the tahoes made were 2 doors and of that 20% only 1% came with 5 speed. The only thing more rare would be a 2 door with a 5speed and a diesel from the factory and I could not find where they made one. pretty sweet I think!

i saw a 2door 5speed diesel, i was soo close to picking it up, but i didnt have the cash at that time. it was only 5grand too probably about a yr ago from now..

and i wanna put a diesel in it how sick would a sitck diesel be!!!!

Well, I don't have the stick, but I do have the diesel! I love my 6.5L. Over 200K and still running like a new vehicle!

I doubt they ever made a diesel/nv4500 combo in the Tahoe. Heck, it's hard enough to find a two door diesel!

If i could convert my Tahoe to a 5 speed i would in a heartbeat...I would then sell my 4L60E to help cover the money spent on the swap.

realistically i will most likely end up just modding my auto trans.I figure if im stuck with it i may as well make it more lively and fun to drive.Don't get me wrong though,i do enjoy driving it ;)

What kind of mod can be done to a 4l60 no E or better know as the 700r4

im gunna attempt this soon i really want my hoe to be a 5 speed!

I just swapped out my auto for a 5speed in my 95 yukon it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but I did a little bit of experimenting first I always wanted to do it but I was always a little sketchy my budy called me one day and told me he was junking a 92 s10 with a 4.3 I got to thinking all a 4.3 is is a 350 with 2 cylinders cut off of it so I ripped the 4l60e out and tried it my favorite thing about chevys is just about everythings interchangable I was surprised I knew it would bolt to the motor but I had no idea that I could use the same tranny mount and the driveshaft slid right in so after that experiment I picked up a tranny out of 89 1/2 ton and installed it again everything went right in I. Would say that the hardest part about all of it was gettting the clutch pedals in where I wanted them but it also depends on wether or not u want to leave the throttle body 350 in it I didn't change the wiring harness cause I knew I was going to put a carbureted motor in it witch I just finished up I dropd a 400 small block with vortec heads and decent cam. So its really up to you how its gonna be
