Newbie SSV owner here. Is there anyway to turn automatic headlights back on? There appears to be a sensor on dashboard and switch has auto position. I’ve heard that computer needs to be reprogrammed. Truck is a 2010.TIA

could have been programmed off for stealth mode, they do the lights and horn honk disabled when locking/unlocking
you would need the bcm reprogrammed or buy another one programmed to your vin if this is the case.

I also have a SSV, and the automatic headlights are programmed off (9G8 SEO - AUTO HEADLAMP DELETE) by Chevy. I inquired with the dealer and wanted them along with the daylight driving lights turned back on and they advised me that it required a whole new computer reprogramming that only Chevy HQ and do plus over a $ 500.00 charge. So, I'm happy with stealth mode lol

For that money I'd get an autosync (www.btdieselworks.com) with programming options!
You guys with the PPV/SSV are lucky you don't have the auto door locks! That one annoyance prompted me to get an autosync.
It is a bargain, assuming you want just a few of the features... (remote windows, guages, rearview camera check, strobes, high idle, OBD reader, etc.)

I have a 2013 SSV and my dealership turned my Automatic Headlights and Daytime Driving Lights back on and it only cost $50 for the special programming from GM to turn them back on? Why would you need $500 in programming? Makes no sense to me?

That's what my local dealership told me

You got a good dealership! I talked to two about BCM programming, all I got was blank stares and un-returned phone calls.

hell you can buy a used bcm programmed to your vin off ebay, prices vary but certanly cheaper than $500
the ones I just looked at run about $190 pre-programmed all you have to do is plug it in.

Yes but won't they will come preprogrammed for how the vehicle came from the factory? That would still not resolve the changes he is looking for without additional updating. At least that is my understanding but I could always be wrong.
