I took my 2017 Yukon SLT with 238 miles on it (38 are mine) to the dealer today. I have an issue with my steering wheel leather and they are going to replace it. They told me the sreerimg wheel is not available through parts and that they'll have to pull the steering wheel off the line in Texas in order to replace it and it could take 3 weeks or more BS or true??? Mark

I never gave one thought about parts availability until unneeded them lol.......im getting a new 22" rear passenger chrome wheel for SLT Premium Edition and a new steering wheel and last but not least a passenger side fog light assembly. They said the wait for the wheel could run 8 weeks as they are on backorder. Steering wheel 4 plus weeks and who knows about the fog light assembly????

At least in time it will be fixed. I'm sorta on the fence about pulling off line, what about the vehicle it's programmed for ? the line moves fairly quick. Just a thought, good luck

pulling off the line would likely be out of a parts bin, not off an actual vehicle.
I was a contractor at the ford torrence plant years ago, they have a TON of inventory on hand. Its more a matter of going through the process of getting it authorized and physically walking to get the part. They are pretty sophisticated with inventory control.

Having needed parts for my 16 Suburban, I am surprised that parts are not available in a warehouse for distribution to the dealers. I had modules, cable, the antenna fin on the roof and the rear cargo area floor replaced. The longest I waited for a part was a week for the cargo area floor to come in.
