Bad day...thinking about a different grill, any suggestions?

Had a similar experience in MO but worse....Friday before Halloween going home from IL on I-70...deer jumped off embankment right in front of me going nearly 80mph....needless to say $24K+ in damages...every airbag in the vehicle went off EXCEPT the steering wheel bag...all the curtain bags down each side ..even the little airbag that’s in the lumbar support of my seat!! Was not a fun experience!

Amazing what these trucks can take and still be fixed. Glad you’re ok. Imagine if you were on a bike.

...Last time I hit a deer it was considered “act of God” by the insurance Co. I was able to get my car fixed even though I wasn’t carrying collision coverage...

Typically contact with a bird or animal is considered the bird or animal's fault and is covered under Comprehensive instead of Collision coverage. As in "The deer hit my car" instead of "I hit a deer". Contact with a mailbox, other vehicle, etc. is covered under collision. Dodging a dog in the street and hitting a parked car is probably collision.

If a squirrel or dog runs in front of me, it just committed suicide. If a kid runs in front of me, I will try to miss the kid even if I try out my seat belt and airbags on a parked car.

FWIW and your insurance may be different.
