Don't hate and wouldn't lie to my TYF family...........and I just got back from upnorth with a 19.8 MPG to boot........a did a lot of coasting...duh

I wasn't hating I got jipped on a picture because a Guy said with his brand of filter will give me this mileage city and hi-way so I bought it trusting the picture and it actually dropped my mileage that is the only why I said that. Sorry ti the poster who posted that and take care. Once again Im sorry

My 2001 5.3 is rated 12 city and 15 highway, and I get exactly that w a combined 13mpg city/highway (mostly rush hour traffic). You guys getting above 15mpg must have later models that are more efficient?

I am told if you get a tune you may see 1-2+ mpg. So this maybe the case with some of these.
00-06 of same body style/engine get about the same MPG.

No Tune/Totally Stock

Drive MD-to-NJ every 2 weeks. Rt50/Bay Bridge/301/295. Set the cruise on 60mph. Never touch the gas most of the way....best was 23+ but can count on a solid 20+.
Looked at an Excursion on eBay. The guy thought he was just taking car pics of the interior, but didn't realize he posted his Excursions' MPG (7) accidentally! LOL LOL

The great MPG but be from the stickers, I always heard they do extra special things to vehicles. Especially the horse one on the side, that has to give you 1-2 mpg alone. LOL

But is the reading accurate on the display? I always fill up, reset trip odometer, drive around, then fill up again and divide Miles/Gallons.

Bad computer?

I'd hate to think all Yukon/Suburbans/Tahoes have defective MPG displays.

People in my Office made fun of my "soccer mom" car (hey, it ain't a black Suburban)...so for fun I added: Disney stick family, "soccer mom", "soccer dad", soccer ball, Student Driver, and horse magnet. Just added a "Baby on Board" today! LOL And I'm single/no kids!!! At least with the 2 "student driver" bumper stickers, they give me space!

With all that said, did you calculate the MPGto see if your DIC is accurate? I am willing to bet money that it is not.

In the meantime, enjoy all your stickers, bet it looks real classy. :)

The DIC's 99% are not accurate. I don't have one on my truck 02' but I do have a OBDII dongle and Android app that reads the same data as the DIC and it is not accurate either. If fact I have 2 different apps and OBDII dongles (iPhone and Android) they both read about the same MPG that is not correct. Usually about 3-4 mpg off.
