I have a 2004 GMC Yukon with second row seats that won't fold down ( on the 40 side). the cables are still intact but won't allow the seat back to fold down. Also my suv thinks my park brake is still engaged and the brake light flashes as I go down the road with an irritating chime. Anybody have any solutions?

Add brake fluid...had this happen to me. I filled to the full line and it kept chiming. Went to a mechanic and he test drove it then added more fluid...chiming stopped

You could replace the cable...........or you could just grab the lever that the cable attaches to and pull it forward to disengage the seats to get them to fold down until you feel like completely disassembling the seats and buying a new cable. As much of a pain as it is, buying a new cable with the special ends, tearing the upholstry off of the seats, installing the cable then trying to get the seat covers back on correctly just doesnt seem that much fun so i just...........grab the lever when I want to fold the seat down.

The lever is visible when you flip the seat portion of the seat forward. Both seats have 2 cables. One to allow the backrest to fold foward after the seat has been flipped forward. The second is to allow the headrest to fold back. See where the cable goes into a lever and simply pull the lever forward. The seat back will then fold down.
