you'll never see anything sealed in any of my cars. but i'm an SPL guy, so theres the difference.
and what the hell song plays at 20 hz?

as far as the mmats, uhhh, iirc, theyre sealed on the back side, but reversed, with plexi, and wires reversed, so technically theyre sealed on the front. if that makes sense.

the reason i love bandpass, its loud, acoustic, and pretty...

this is prior to getting new wires for the speakers. they look like crap in this pic..

I suppose your right. It's all personal preference. I just don't like the sound I get from a sealed box. But that's just IMO

I've always been a fan of sealed, seemed to be the best over all range for a full range of music. I have no system in this truck, all my past stereos were crammed into a S-10 regular cab. I managed to get to twelves in there and it was loud IMO. the only competition I did in it was either 139 or 141 DB, not too bad I guess for a rookie at the time.

I've had a few well built ported enclosures that changed people's opinions of a ported system, still like sealed more than anything since I'm over the hair trick ********. I like hearing my music. The 4 ported 15's with 1000rms/ea in my acura was ridiculous tho...140db+ is just obnoxious.

I've built many of all the different types but prefer the sealed just because it's a smaller package. I do enjoy making the bandpass enclosures because they are a little more involved and cooler looking.

Here is a sealed one I am building for a 68 SS Camaro that we are restoring. It's in the fit up stage so it has to come back out and be sprayed with Lizard Skin. The plexi on the front is being covered with blue Illusion film and back lit to match the blue lights on the Alpine PDX amps.
