i need advice. ok here goes i have a optima red top under the hood of my tahoe and i had it sitting for a couple day and the battery was drained wen i tried to start it so i took it to autozone and had it tested and it was low so i had it swapped out with a new one.the guy told me i should get a regular battery to start it and move the optima to the back for the sound system not sure if it would b a good idea because i have a stock altenator

unknown at this time.
You must use an isolator but the bigger question is what drained it while it was sitting for a couple of days. What ever it was will ruin a lead-acid just as much if not quicker. The optima up front is good if not better. If you intend on running amps when the vehicle is off you should have them there power terminals hooked up to deep-cycle yellow top that will not get ruined form deep discharged. If your running engine can handle your system now it should not have a big issue with charging two battery. It really depends on your components. Are there any obvious voltage supply problems you see right now.

agree, you have a drain somewhere if it drained within a few days...and yes, your alt with an isolator will charge both amps,

caps=shit. they take away from your system unless it over a couple thousand watts. save the money for a good battery.

a high output alt is better than runnin a cap in a system any day

i agree, take the caps outta the system unless youre runnin huge power and see if that solves the issue, the optima should preform better than a normal battery any day as well

I have 2 red tops in my tahoe never had a problem. Never really been a big fan of caps. I dont use them, even with 2000wrms. High output alt. > any cap on the market.
