Was in the Panhandle this summer and thru Fort Waltobn as well.

That 18 should be some big bass and fill that Tahoe well.

Yeah not too hard to pull apart, just sequential.

Bumper cap is all plastic tabs that push thru the bumper but need to be pushed thru from underneath first so that they don't rip off.

Then the lower valance which has a series of pins that pull the center out and then the whole pin pulls out releasing it from the bumper. Fog lights best to come off first. Then the bumper which is all bolts and pulls off.

Rear bumper pads have the same tabs as front bumper cap and then the bumper is bolted on and pulls off.

Not too bad.

Sounds simple enough, I'm not going to want to drive it with bumpers off, it's going to look so goofy haha but it will look so nice afterwards.

As for the 18 it should be plenty of bass. The goal is sound quality and I want it to hit low 20s. I'm still trying to figure out how to get past the bose system. I've come across a couple threads using a line output converter and tapping into the stock sub. I'd like to keep the stock head unit and eventually bypass the whole bose amp and use an amp for the doors. Maybe use a signal processor? I'm not sure yet.

Audio is not my strong point. There are some really good audio guys on here that can definitively point you in the right direction especially with the Bose system which I do not have.

Lucky you for not having bose haha, if I can't find it on here I'm sure I can tinker with it until I find something that works. I appreciate all your advice.

I have the bose (more of a pita than its worth) but either way i wanted a deck with bluetooth, aux and usb inputs along with different options and settings, like mainly a more defined equalizer and including sub levels for my L7.
But i can't wait till I get a complete system with door speakers and rip all that bose out.

Next on my list will be exterior paint also. waiting till after the holidays , then realized I'm going on vacation in January so won't be till after that. I'll be doing bumpers and grille , exc body parts in early spring.

And as far as mechanics on these , they are the easiest compared to other trucks of its time. your hardbody was easy but so are these , as like Fosscore said most are sequential and instead of bolts and screws like your nissan they're all plastic clips and push pins lol.

He might have more info on what you're trying to do. I just researched what I wanted to do, didn't look at other options. but the only option I do recall seeing over and over again is the line output converter spliced into the the stock sub like you said.
You would be surprised tho, adding a aftermarket deck to the stock bose is night and day in sound quality and power added. I didn't add a sub to mine for the longest time cause it sounded amazing with just my pioneer and the bose. part of it I'll admit it's because the bose was barely broken in, I bought my tahoe off an old man who was the original owner and all he listened to was George Jones at low levels with the bass off lmao. so my speakers were like brand new.

I second massivespl for audio advice. I hit him up a number of times over the last few weeks via PM and he was right to the point with answers including things I had missed.

I have the same expensive tastes for stereo setups. I wanted to retain all the stock features like steering wheel controls. The module didn't cost too much for that. Anyways I went with a clarion unit and the sound quality is quite a bit better than stock. And I love it! So if you end up swapping out the head unit and do the modules and such, it's very much worth it! My clarion unit has bluetooth, and I stream music from my iPad and It's absolutely awesome! Sounds fantastic!

Yea like I said I have bose and retained my steering wheel controls. $100 adapter module for the bose. My entry level double din pioneer was $150. makes a huge difference in sound loudness and quality with just the deck on stock speakers.
Your factory deck is very nice but we both know eventually going to go aftermarket, so just use that money for an aftermarket deck to begin with
