I’m trying to decide what the best adhesive to try and repair this would be because I’m guessing I will only get one shot. This is the left side defrost vent on the upper dash. This appears to be a common problem with these because my 13 is doing it, the dash I just bought to put in my 08 is doing it, and it looks like some other used ones I’ve seen are doing it also. I’m thinking contact adhesive? I have some 3M 30NF contact adhesive. I just don’t know how long I’ll have to sit there holding it. There isn’t really a good way I can think of to hold it in place that won’t damage the leather.

I've never seen one of those dashes in person, so I can't tell how the damage looks, but I've used sand bags, or depending if I have the room--I use some thin pieces of wood like paint stirring sticks, and some strong spring loaded clips to hold a certain position while the glue dries. 3m is good stuff. What does the can say about curing time? How long before it starts to tack up? BTW--If you can get in there, spray both sides of what you want to glue, then let them tack up. Make sure you have something handy to clean up any glue that gets somewhere where you don't want it to go. Make sure if you use something other then a rag that it won't damage the leather or let the color bleed off.

What I have isn’t a spray, it’s a liquid in a bottle. I’ve never used it before. From what I can tell, the separation doesn’t go very deep. I will likely have to put whatever on a popsicle stick and rub it in there.

Careful it doesn't expand like Gorilla Glue. Could turn out messy and ugly.

Yeah. The bottle says it needs 30 minutes so I may try some epoxy after all. I can’t sit there for 30 minutes not moving. I know epoxy doesn’t expand either.
