When I bought my 03 escalade it had a 2003 model alpine flip out non touch screen head unit, tied to some alpine monitors in the head rests, and another alpine dvd player mounted in the rear cubby by the third row. It was installed with an old school Sound Gate digistar-b interface. Keep in mind this was done with the truck was BRAND new 10 years ago. The interface seemed to work properly with no fault.
When I replaced it with my kenwood double din DVD head unit, I couldn't find a wiring diagram for the sound gate, so I went to best buy ( had to get it done that day ) and grabbed a GMOS-04 for 99.99 and its been working fine. How ever I do get a "onstar unavailable" message periodically. Is that because I have the wrong adaptor?
