Yeah the 170/60 version will give smoother rude but 255/70 will be little more in stiff side.

No suspension travel in rear? Shocks shouldn't be that stuff. I install these and with the 12 inch bracket cut off in rear truck has lots of room for travel in rear when I hit bumps. If your saying it's to off now then I'd get the lower valves 5125s. The truck should have tons of travel in rear.

what do you mean by 170/60? The rear is fine, im actually pretty happy with the rear right now. I think ill get an even better ride in the rear once i install the helper bags. Im mainly worried about the front, feels like theres no suspension travel at cruising speeds.

^^ I think he's right. You are probably on the bump stops up front. Stock uptravel on an IFS truck isnt much more than 3-4 inches. Once you drop it, you lose that up travel. My truck is on the Belltech spindles and stock keys and im at 33.5 up front. It rides great. It only got to 33.5 after i backed the keys out 5 turns which was about 3/4" of drop. They recommend no more than 1" of drop using the keys so it makes sense that you'd be having a harsh ride.

so the 5125s are smoother/softer than the SP? shocks i tried previously were just stiff as hell on a 3" 5303 spring. like riding on a 2x4. i've since returned them and installed a set of old, leaky rear nivomats i had laying around. raised the rear an inch but ride was way better. maybe ill try a set of these. getting antsy to buy a shock to lower the rear back down but don't want something i cant return if i don't like it.

you guys think some z71 bumpstops would help? after reading around, a lot of people seem to have replaced or left their old bumpstops. i cut my whole bumpstop out when i first lowered the car. i think the harsh ride is jsut from the lower control arm hitting metal to metal everytime i hit a bump.

isnt the bumpstops suppose to be sitting on the lower control arm? its like that stock or lowered on these cars i think.

stock they touch. but if you lower with keys they start to crush and give the front a harsh ride. they are right in saying to raise front with keys to test it out. just 0.5" at a time. sometimes you can drill holes (there is a thread about in here somewhere) to give a little more cush from the stop. my front is lowered 1.5 with keys. im going raise it up 0.5" to see how it rides. my stops are crushing and bending to the side from it. i may turn them to offset the bend and drill some relief holes and experiment a little.
