i was gonna go with the shorter 5100 in the rear. heard the hds for the rears are too long and dont ride that great.

installed the bilsteins and airlift in the rear. bilsteins are kinda smushy, absorbs bumps a lot better though. imma drive for a couple weeks and see if it gets better. might have to switch back to the sp's and raise it up a bit.

those part numbers are for the 4600 series shocks which have the softer valving. The 5100 and 5125 have the stiffer valving. So the 4600 will ride more caddy like. I have 4600 in front of my truck i like them for DD driving but prob will go for 5152 eventually.

Hello d00bies.....i am dealing with the same issues. Harsh ride and all. I have a 2/3 drop with beltech spindle, 5305 plus 1 inch coils, and beltech sp shocks all around. I like the cadillac feel tho. What set up for shocks did you finally settle with. I am wanting to get rid of these SP's also? Help me please. Bro

theyre all soft bro. i installed the hd 4600s in the front and 5125 in rear. both were super soft, maybe softer than the nitro 2's i had tbh. i went back to the sp's, rides a lot better than the bilsteins. just cant get rid of the bottom out feel in front everytime i hit a bump while im cruising. even raised the front up about 2 inches and helper bags have about 15psi in them. i dont get how some of these guys on here got their trucks way lower than mines and have no problems. so now i got a almost brand new set of nitro 2 and hd fronts/5125 rears sitting around lol. if anyone knows someone that wants them lmk, ill give em to you guys for cheap. both sets got less than 100miles on them.

i feel you man haha. out of the 3 kinds of shocks ive tried, sp's rides the best to my liking. the other ones are too soft imo, but everyone has their own preference as to how stiff or soft they want. i think the only way to get a stock ride is if you lower it with the control arm kit. if i knew how these cars ride with spindles and torsion keys, i wouldve went with the djm control arm kit in the first place. I've done it that way with coilovers/lca combo on regulars cars and they ride great. And all my cars were slammed to the ground.

compared to the nitro 2's, did the 5125s at least feel like better quality? the 5125s are stiffer than the HDs right?

i wanna say it was better quality, but tbh it felt the same to me, the nitro 2's felt more sporty if you know what i mean. bilsteins feels like your cars all over the place, although it did absorb little bumps in the road a lot better than the belltech shocks. the 5125 did feel a little better than the hd's, but both were way too soft for me. i was pretty shocked they call these heavy duty shocks. anyone had any experience with the kyb gas shocks? was thinking about checking those out. man suvs are a pain in the ass!
