Which CAI do you recommend for a 16 Tahoe with the 5.3? I am on the fence as which one to buy.

So, I was looking over the graphs and it seemed like AFE and Volant would be the best ones to go for. Is there a tuner that is best for tuning after the install? The Volant one I'm really considering even though I should wait a bit before modifying my 17 Tahoe LT.
Hello Jonathan, The AFE performed the best, and is what we would recommend. We can tune your vehicle via our AutoCal.

Is there a military discount by chance?
We do offer a discount to our active duty military. Send us an email [email protected] from your .mil account so we can verify your status. We would be happy to help.

Do you have a location here on Oahu, Hawaii by chance?
Never mind. Dam I wish I was still in my home town up in Idaho. Saw that there is an event up there.
Also, just was looking at an install video, is it best to seal up the intake for the AFE one or to not plug it up? Just was wondering if there was a horse power increase, or it didn't really matter.

The noise difference between the plugged AFE vs not plugged is considerable. If you like that intake noise, then by all means, leave it open. If not, close it. Our dyno testing was with it open, however I am not certain that would have any real world impact on horsepower.

Black bear:

If I purchase the AFE Momentum GT Pro 5R Intake System for my 2017 Tahoe...does it require a tune after install?
