Loosen both ends and once its seated torque down the throttle body side first really good and check that it lines up well with the air box and then torque that down. This happened once and I think it was bc it was a little ****-eyed.

It's just no matter how tight I get it I can still pull it out by hand...
The plastic feels like it has armor all on it

I roughed it up with a file and flipped the rubber due to so calculations in my head telling me it would be better flipped and it is a little harder to pull out we will see how long it lasts like this.
