Hey guys, new guy here. Been looking around the forums and it seems like there's a few different ways to go about fitting 33s.

Would a leveling kit + ~3" keys work? Or does it depend on the backspacing and offset of the rims?

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

alot depends on wheels, back spacing and width of tires

I ran 285s on my NBS with no lift just fine

I was figuring that. I'm trying to find a good chart that shows backspacing/offsets, but I'm not having much luck.

If you don't mind me asking, what does NBS mean?

whats the budget? especially since your 4wd, 3" of torsion bar crank is going to be stressful on your front end. also being that its a 2001, your going to want to check on front end parts condition. worn front end parts will become very apparent with larger tires.

Suspension parts alone I'm looking to keep it under $1k. A little over won't be that big of a deal, though. She has 281k miles, 95% of them have been highway though(guy I bought it from was a big time logging company foreman). What all would I need to check in the front end?

Edit: I love the stance of your Tahoe, man. That's what my end goal is as far as stance goes. How much have you put into the suspension?

i've got quite a bit into mine. but its all been gradual and here and there. i've got a build thread on gmfullsize thats more up to date than the one here linked in my sig.
http://gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266193

but i still haven't gotten my front end right and its been about 3+ years since i did my suspension lift. its almost there though. but i'm going to be getting rid of the RCD kit in the near future for a cognito 7-9.

got the RCD kit used for 850 on craigslist, moog pitman arm, idler arm, idler assembly, inner/outer tie rods, upper control arms/ball joints, lower ball joints, reman steering gear, power steering pump, royal purple steering fluid, power steering fluid filter, special upper control arm alignment cams that can't get knocked out (drilled holes instead of one big slide), bilstein 5160 resi shocks, new sway bar links from RCD, and timken hubs. and that about completes my list of front end/steering parts LOL and i'm at 200k miles.

depending on how wide of a set up, the RCX 6" kit is pretty budget friendly but it only drops your front diff about 4" and the rest of the lift is gained by cranking the torsion bars. if your only looking to run some smaller 33's on x9 or x10" wheels, should be perfect. when you crank the front end more, thats when you get front end parts wearing out much more quickly.

That's one hell of a list man, hahaha.

I'm thinking of running x12" rims. I'm a sucker for offset and the wide, beefy stance they make.

This is really off topic, but what headlights are you running? I'm looking for projectors and your's are the only ones I've seen that I like so far.
