Brake bleeding

i use a turkey baster to suck out the old fluid, then fill it up with new fluid.

never used that type of bleeder, but they will will do the job as well.

Do you empty the reservoir completely or leave just a bit and fill with new and refill as needed until all bled?

Your will get clean fresh fluid faster if you do suck the bulk of the old from the res and fill with new.

"... the bulk ..." is the key phrase here. Never let your master cylinder run dry unless you're prepared to bleed it by itself. Leave a little fluid in the reservoir, covering the valves, and keep topping it off if your tool doesn't do that by design.

like everyone else said, you can leave a bit in there. while your doing the calipers and lines make sure the master is full and dont drain out on ya. it will slow drain on you.

If you're doing a full flush then you might want to consider using DOT 4 fluid. If you're at DOT 3 now.
