My wife can change brake pads and rotors.


You should be able to change to two pot rear rotors. The brackets may be different, so you'll likely need to be sure that they come with them (most do).

Whats wrong with your rear calipers that they need to be changed?

You can install:

XL rear brakes those should be 2 pot calipers
NNBS front brakes for bigger rotors and calipers.

For less than 1k no problem.

The 1K is for parts and labor. They said I need rear calipers as they are seized up.

I know how to change my brakes. That's not a problem. 1K is for parts and labor. No way I want to dish out 1K for brakes.

So I have sent Rookie an email to get prices. I'm also looking at this package

What is suggested for calipers?

I posted a picture with part numbers. There are front and rear calipers on it.

They are loaded so they come with brake pads, but the powerstop pads may be a bit better.

Yeah 1k for brakes is astronomical.

Get powder coated if you can. If not paint them with poor 15 before you install.

So I have talked to someone at JEGS and he recommends that I stay with the current single pin caliper in the rear rather then changing to dual pin as it will perform better.

So I'm thinking of getting this kit http://www.jegs.com/i/Power+Stop/419/K2010/10002/-1
& replacing the caliper with http://amzn.com/B00DGRRMS2

Any feedback on this setup? Thanks!
