I'm going to need to do brake pads and probably rotors soon and I'm wondering what everyone is recommending these days. Searching I saw that the R1 Premier are often mentioned. Is this still the best option?

2008 Yukon Denali. I drive 5k miles a year or less and tow a few times a year. No real budget. I don't want to be cheap about it, but I also don't like spending money I don't have to spend.

I see r1 stuff mentioned on several forums for various different vehicles. I'll stick with buying powerstop myself. I'm not sure where everyone buys the r1 stuff but I always see ebay mentioned and I've never had luck with anything bought through ebay. I can buy powerstop through summit racing or rockauto which tend to be easier to get a hold of someone if there is ever an issue.

Not that I've ever heard of customer service complaints very often about r1 besides "waiting for a response". Give me a phone number I can talk to someone immediately I don't like waiting for customer service responses.

I have R1 and have had zero issues with them as I tow a boat as well. On the plus side, the drilled and slotted rotors look good too. I don't remember where I bought them but it wasn't ebay.

I don't know if I want drilled and slotted I've heard they make some noise on bigger setups. Any issues with yours?

None. No squealing or brake noises of any kind. Much like you I only put on about 5000 miles per year so the brakes don't see a ton of use.

Appreciate it. Any issues with Powerstop for towing? Also, which kit do you get?
I ran a powerstop kit on my 07 LTZ and loved em. I went with a brake motive brand for my Denali. Then powerstops are better than the brake motive kit (my opinion). Both kits look identical, drilled and slotted rotors all 4 corners. Both kits did improve braking.
