My 2016 Yukon XL Denali with 17,000 miles is in for grooves in the rotors. It sounded like metal against metal. I started complaining about my brakes around 12,000 miles. I looked at my rotors yesterday and the driver side had a huge groove in it. They are replacing all my rotors and pads since I called GM about it. But they said large grooves are normal wear and tear?? This car has had tons of issues and I'm getting tired of it being in the shop at least once a month. It has been in for

Replaced front light casing
Replaced carpet
Replaced one of the rear vents
Replaced module for lane departure
Been in 3x for front camera
Been in 3x for service rear camera
Bearings and part in steering column(took 2 times to diagnosis it)
Transmission jerking(said it's normal)
Both mirrors replacing due to noise and rubbing
4 wheel drive system(told me not to use it basically and if I do I need to go in reverse for 6 feet to get it back to 2WD)
Tire sensor monitoring system replaced
All 4 rotors and pads being replaced(took 2 times to fix this)
Been in for airbag recall
Navigation stopped working and screen shut off but started working again(this has happen a few times and it's in for this right now
again)- they are replacing the navigation atena now
Hot air coming from front seats when using the seat coolers
Is this enough to ask for a lemon law? But don't you kind of get screwed lemon law wise??

I think that's it and I've only had it 11 months.

I'm sending all my paperwork to a lemon law lawyer today, he said as long as they are fixing the issues I don't have a case. But he said send them over and he will look over everything for me. Thanks everyone!

Lemon laws vary by state. In my state there has to be at least 3 failed attempts to repair a problem or the vehicle has to be in the shop for 30 days or more. You might be at least close to having a case. Have you asked the dealer to buy it back?

Yes, the dealer changed the subject. But the customer service rep for GM went over everything they had changed out on my vehicle. Some of the stuff they didn't even tell me about. He said maybe collect all your records. If you pay $80,000 for a vehicle you expect a working car, not one that's in the shop all the time.

Start asking for payment for your time. Make sure when your vehicle is in the shop they give you one exactly like yours. You have the right, in most states, to demand that. The lawyer is right about the lemon law but you definately have a case with GM. Climb the ladder as much as you need to. If the manager won't take it back and give you what you paid then go to GM headquarters. They don't like to upset people like you willing to drop 80k on a new vehicle. If this was a corvette they'd be treating you differently. It's sad that you have to do all this but speak to your local newspaper or TV chanel. File a claim with the BBB. Dealers are very sensitive about their ratings. The sad part is it's not the dealers fault. They got a dud and sold it to you but, they get paid fairly well for doing warranty work. Your list of problems is unacceptable.

Oh, forgot to add. Large grooves in the rotors are not normal unless your brake pads have some kind of funky design where they have grooves in them. I've never seenbrake pads that weren't perfectly flat. My guess is the grooves are from faulty pads where the rivets that hold the pad to the bracket have come loose.

Thank you for the advice. I hired a lemon law lawyer and they already filed and of course as soon as they filed the dealer decided they would not fix my navigation Aetna after they told me they would be replacing it 3 different times.

They always give me a Yukon when I take my car in for service, it's not a Denali like mine but I guess I can't be that picky, lol.

It's going to another dealer tomorrow to fix the ventilated seat issue, we can't use the ventilated seats because it blows hot air on my kids legs. So the dealer we bought it from has a fix for it.

That truck is cursed! My goodness. It's almost like the main computer or one of them is totally messed up and telling it to do the opposite of what you want. I hate that you're having to litigate but they'll end up paying the lawyer's bill. Good luck to you man, I can't imagine what this is like.
