I was doing it for looks. Just curious how a rotor diameter increase slows the vehicle down quicker.
The caliper and the same size pad are used. The surface area of contact is the same. I guess i don't fully understand how leverage is gained. Is it just because now the pads are hitting an inch farther from the center?
Yes. The amount of fiction is based on how much rotor the pad contacts. The pad size being the same aside, it being an inch farther from center means more rotor contact per wheel revolution. So essentially, a % increase in diameter will equal a % increase in friction.
