Guys, I know I have asked this before but I am truly at my wits end. I have replaced everything in the brake system, front and rear to exclude the booster and front calipers. Still my pedal goes to the floor when applying the brakes. I have taken the hoe to a local shop, who replaced the master cylinder, (i did this several months ago) and the problem remains. I took it to Brake Check who too could not diagnose the problem. I am going to send it back to the shop that did the master cylinder a few days ago. Can anyone think of anything I may have missed. I'm at the point I'm going to sell the hoe.

What I have replaced:
Front:
Pads, rotors, hoses, master cylinder (twice now, once by me the second by a shop becuase I am tired of messing with it)

Rear:
Drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, spring kit.

What year model? If it has a hydroboost, flush completely. Do this by taking loose the low pressure return hose from the top of the hydroboost unit and plug it. Then run another hose from that "nipple" on the hydroboost to a drain pan. Turn the truck on and pump the pedal until you begin to hear the ps pump whine a little. Turn the truck off and refill the power steering fluid. Repeat this until you have almost cleiar power steering fluid coming out of the hose in the pan.

I'm sorry. It's a 1999. It does not have hydro boost.

Who installed the brakes? Do you know if the rotors were cleaned good before installation?

I installed everything. Both shops found no problems with the parts or work. I have been working on vehicles since I was 15, i'm now 41, and never experienced a problem like this.

Every 97-99 Chevy truck or Tahoe ive driven had mushy brakes that went to the floor. I'm not sure what they did but the previous owner of mine spent $1100 to get it fixed

I dont know what else to try. The dealership wont touch it because of its age. However, they sure dont mind selling me parts. I had a 99 suburban that never has this problem.

Now that I think about it, if I put my pee brain to it, I can't remember the last time the ABS actually activated, even in a panic stop because they are crap even then. I will try a replacement ABS unit and let you know. Again thanks.

Yea now that I found that I'm kinda upset that I didn't buy a different Tahoe I was looking at, brakes did exactly that and the seller tried everything to fix it.
