My 1999 2dr Yukon has a bit of air space when applying brakes ... it seems like a gap before the breaks holds traction in the break peddle. The breaks are new and not sure if its a GMC feature because my Chevy Tahoe doesn't do that. You feel the breaks hold instantly on the Tahoe when stepping on the brake peddle. its seems the brake peddle needs to go further down before you actually feel the brake pads holding With the Yukon GMC 2dr

Anyone idea?

Deeply appreciated fellas

Did they replace calipers or crack the brake lines open for any reason? Sounds like they may need to be bled. Is is original brake fluid? Is it clear or discolored or brown? It may need to be flushed. If that doesn't do it, you may want to consider replacing the brake hoses going to the calipers. They could be weak and swelling a bit due to age. When you throw new pads into an older brake system, the new pads will push those pistons way back into the calipers, in effect asking them to perform like brand new calipers, thus asking every component back to the brake pedal to perform as new. Generally brake components are over engineered and designed to work even when stressed. However, age, mileage, demand and several sets of replacement pads over the trucks life takes its toll on these small components that we ask to do so much for us.
Generally a good bleed takes care of a lot of soft pedal issues. Make sure they check for seepage at the brake lines and calipers.
