I was talked into a PnP kit for my Yukon awhile ago without knowing much about what it was. At first I thought it was great as I "thought" I was getting a better light output, but like others have mentioned, the kits are garbage and does not focus the light. I hate that I get flashed by almost every car on the road and my lights can be overpowered by just about anyone who drives next to me on the freeway. I thought at the time that I had gone with a quality kit and am running a 4300K bulb at 35W, but in reality, with having the reflective housing it is just going to suck regardless. Thankfully I was referred by several people on here to checkout HIDPlanet.com and learned the error of my ways and have a proper retrofit project in the works. I am very much considering removing my PnP kit and running halogens until it is done. My retrofits will be running RX-350 Bi-Xenon projectors with a custom tune, clear lenses, and Osram Xenarc Nightbreaker 4200K bulbs with Morimoto XB35 W ballasts. I'll have a build thread started here soon when I get them installed.
While I know you said you do not want to be changing housings, but it is worth the time and money involved if you want it done right and have the correct light output for HID's. Otherwise, I'd suggest the Sylverstars that everyone else has mentioned above.
Best of luck.
