I'm at a crossroad. I want to replace this thing 1 last time but stuck with 2 options:

1) Install H3 mount again and be more responsible and hopefully not worry about mount in a while.
2) Install solid mount and never worry about replacing a mount again but feel the vibration like Markie Mark.

Vibration with solid mounts is only at idle. Driving around its not noticeable. I went to H3 from solid only because it didnt pass the wife test. If the H3s fail I'm putting the solids back in and will "ask her kindly" to live with it.

Thought you were AWD which to means full time otherwise it’s 4WD. People at the track usually run solid mounts or use a chain on the driver side so it can’t lift too far. At least that’s how we used to do it back when, I haven’t been around that scene in 30 years or more. You should be breaking the tires loose before breaking motor mounts in 2WD especially without a lot of power adders even with a heavy ass SUV. Weird.

I remember doing that....lol

I used a turnbuckle on mine so I could adjust it. Ran from an engine lift plate that was attached to the front header primary bolts down to the K member.

I'm scared mine will fail the wife test as well. I seen a video of a silverado running solids and I could see the difference along with a little extra noise? I wish you or someone could go into more details or video of how bad it is. Whatever goes in next will probably not get changed lol.

Question regarding SOLID motor mounts....there is a screw in the middle connecting the 2 pieces (1 side to engine, 1 side to body). How much tq needed to tighten that bolt?

im guessing you mean the atomic poly mounts?

i wouldnt try and mount each to engine and frame and then line up and put the bolt thru the middle.
make the mount up out of the truck, put the bolt thru the middle. it's a 1/2" bolt iirc put 65ft lbs or so on it - you could prob put 100 on the thing and its still going to hinge. bolt it to the engine first and swing it down and bolt it to the frame with the three stock bolts.

I slapped mine in with the bolt already through the middle. It's hinged so just fold a bit and bolt in tight enough.

Any regrests? Videos of the vibration? My dash is cracked in multiple places. I can see vibration being a bigger issue on this truck because of that...

With how much I WOT mine, I'm still surprised you broke an ACDelco H3 mount so soon. Granted, I don't do many WOTs from a dig (no reason to), but still.

I also don't see how poly mounts wouldn't appeal to you guys' wives. I thought they liked that sort of thing. I guess an "O face" while being stuck in traffic could be a distraction for them, though.
