I'll get in touch with a couple of people and see what their schedule is like. The one I have in mind has done a few truck/car Ls swaps. This isn't really a "conversion" since the new motor is just a drop in, so it shouldn't be hard to find someone to take it on. If you decide you want to do it yourself, I'd be glad to help out.

I may do it myself. I have all the tools minus an engine lift (Harbor freight is exactly 7.3 miles away), and Ive pulled engines before and swapped a transmission. however they were all on mustangs and one nissan. time will be the biggest factor for me since I have to have my hoe for work, but im looking at getting a 95 to 98 silverado or sierra too.

Hate dry counties. Imo I really would just build yours up. Or buy a junkyard engine build it then sell the one I. Yours. Cheap and reliable

Nothing wrong with a dry county, the whole damn world could be dry and I wouldn't care.

As for your engine, just do the swap yourself and learn a few things on the way.

Thats a negative sir... I love my tahoe lol. I cannot stand the looks of the escalade or denali.

Agree , I love my Tahoe, escalade or denali esp. the newer ones not so much. Go with that 6.0.

If my 5.3 didn't run so damn good that 6.0 would be in there now.

School me a bit here... I thought the only difference in the (truck) 5.3/6.0 was the bore, and stroke (the block is actually the same), and the only difference in the 4L60/4l80 was internally the 80 is heavier duty, and had a slightly different ratio in each gear (again the cases being the same).

EDIT: I agree on the Denali, and Eskys. The Esky is to much of a status statement nor do I care for the interior, and I'm not a fan of the Denali exterior. To much extra plastic cladding, and I'm not much of a fan of the headlamps.

I haven't worked on transmissions in a while professionally, but th 4l80 used to be longer/larger, and about 100lbs heavier assembled.
