Hey everyone i am new to the forum and was curious on your thoughts about buying a high mileage Tahoe. I found a loaded 2015 with 140k miles for only 25k and it just seems like they dont get much cheaper. Any thoughts on this?

If they maintained it enough to make it that far I wouldn't sweat it.

Check the steering/suspension and obvious stuff like oil pressure, trans fluid and shifting habits etc. I have almost 70k on my 2016 and its been solid, even dealing with -30 degree temps regularly.

awesome thanks for the advice i will definitely be crawling under for a through check. i see it the same way you do if its made it thus far and still runs, it must be decent, i just bought my last work truck with 200k miles and made it to 300k before it started having issues so im a believer in high miles lol

Check the carfax even though they are not 100% accurate it is a good starting point. Also go by a GM Dealer with the VIN number and see if they can pull up the vehicle maintenance. If it was taken care of and well maintained it should be fine. If you buy and have any issues just let us know and we should be able to get you squared away. A lot of good knowledgeable people on this site. Make sure you do a good test drive. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I agree 100% with this..I would not touch it if I did not get ALL maintenance records!! I would also have a good independent mechanic put it on the rack and check everything.

With that said was recently in a 2015 Livery Burban that had 180K miles on it and the driver said so far no issues..It ran great and everything worked perfectly..He said it gets serviced every 5K miles at the dealer.

Just make sure you swap the diff and xcase fluids before you get too far along.

I just bought a 2004 Gmc Yukon Denali and it has 314,000 kilometers! Runs great. Very few problems just a little tlc it needs. The owner even knew she was the third owner and had a complete folder of service going back to 2003.
It was only 4500. Very affordable. Battery was just replaced and new tires last year. So far not much for me to do except change the coolant soon and transmission fluid to be sure. I will also get the differential fluid checked as well.

Yes I am going to get them flushed and refilled. Kinda pricey but that way I won't have big problems later.
