Check the air filter, fuel filter, and throttle body to see if it needs cleaning. I get 15+ mpg on average, and that's mostly city driving.

FWIW...

I sometimes ***** about the lack of power my 04 has. But despite that, I wouldnt even consider selling it. If you look hard enough, deals are out there. Take mine for example.

2004 Z71 Tahoe with leather, on star, bose, capts chairs in the front and middle, 3rd row bench.

It had 113000 on it when I purchased it. For 5500 :)
Bank Repo, got it from an Auction. Its now at almost 150k. I change my fluids RELIGIOUSLY and I use RP 5w30 FS and thier high milage synthetic filters. Despite its lack of power (lol it kills me), I see no reason why I couldn't get another 100k out of her. And then drop a brand new built 6.0 in... For FAR LESS than buying a new one :)

Cheers

Ofcourse If you read my posts concerning power, Im pretty MOD happy lol. But still, I could easily drop 10k into this truck and smoke any brand new Tahoe that was stock and have alot less money into it. But hey, I tend to like buying something outright and making it badass. I know tons of people that will have a car note till the day they die.
