¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Installing a receiver is an easy job. If the rest of the truck checks out it may be worth considering.

Yes
You should be good with the adapter sleeve. What is everyone's take on hitch receiver adapters? Found equalizer anti sway hitch with load balancing local in my area. The shank is 2", which is what my Tahoe has. I'm now shopping for 2500Hd Silverado, which has 2 1/2 receiver. Are 2" to 2 1/2" adapters safe so I can use the equalizer in Silverado and Tahoe if need to?

Go big or go the **** home.Likely going to pick up 2018 3500HD today. Some minor damage as it is a work truck. 101k miles, $19,5k, 6L Gas. New bumper included in sale, tailgate will be attempted to be fixed (don't want to spent another 500-80p junk part). Hopefully I am not making a stupid decision and will be able to resell when time comes (may be within a year). Will have the truck inspected.
