Can't dim dash lights

I have a 15' Tahoe PPV.The auto headlight feature has been disconnected I guess by an upfitter before I picked it up at the dealer. When I am sitting blacked out, my dash lights are always on and I can't dim them. I can dim them when my lights are on. Anybody know anything about this because the guages are so big it lights up the entire cab and makes it really hard to see out.

turn your park lights on maybe
