Found them, they are way up there past that big cylinder that goes to the brake pedal and behind that white connector

Glad to hear it! They really tucked them up and out of the way, didn’t they.

My manual says nothing about pulling a lever to release the parking brake

Ok, well let's say it is a Denali thing, standard on them and were optional on the lower end trim levels.

I know that i am not much help now but i have the same controller in my 4 runner.... worked like a charm! you'll love it! happy trailering.
